OLD TOWN Review so far this summer 2010!
July 11th
In the scene from now on will have more updates generally one a day! Guess what though?! We want to hear your thoughts on Scottsdale, Tempe, and other event areas. I want to hear the good, the bad and the ugly! We have companies like "the dirty" (all rights reserved) that put people on blast for God knows what reason.
I stop by many of the biggest events and parties as well as our photographers. Arizona/Scottsdale is a smaller pond than most realize. I probably know 2 of your exes and the house you lost by buying in an inflated market. This doesnt mean anything negative it is what it is. It is just a small pond. If you think something should or can be changed for the better email me your ideas or thoughts and I will integrate your thoughts into my articles on here. This is going to be similar to a blog now except you can't just pop off and say whatever you want. We may change it to that where you can comment, but for now send me your thoughts even if it is saying your part on a story from another site to correct any mistakes and or BS at that.
There were a lot of pool parties this last couple weeks. I was there at many and lucky enough to hang out with some good people. One of those people that was there for the first time is from Iowa. It was great to hear another perspective of how "Scottsdale people" look like in both physical and the outwardly actions while they were drinking.
One of the things we talked about was a lack of kindess, responsibilty , and how general manners can make or break how people view the Scottsdale crowd or any group of people. Many girls love to dress up to go out and have a great time. Whether it be to go out to a pool party or they like to dance, be silly and decompress.Thats all they wanted. It's possible they may meet a guy out , but its not their aim for the night. When I see guys grab a females arm in the club to try to get her attention or they smack the girls butt.Truly it is an emberassment to men period. I definetly see it as one of the number one reasons to be thrown out of a club. These guys are lacking in either looks, personality, and or no eye catching smile to get a girls attention so they resort to grabbing and smacking. We can adda lack of self control to that as well. These actions alone show the clubs are too permissive and that these guys believe they have the right to treat women poorly and with a lack of respect. Guys if you need to grab a girls arm to get her attention you are pathetic. Find some new ways to approach women!
People get to drunk! Yes I said it! Are you the person that can't remember the last 1-3 hours of your night? Are you the person e-mailing us and or other companies saying " did you take a photo of me, cuz I was trashed and looked like hell" "can you please pull the photo?" Know your limits and have some self respect. Have fun , but learn your tolerance of alcohol! Too often I see people barely able to talk and are mad at everyone else for being in "their way". I find it funny to watch, but it's sad in actuality. People do this weekly. Some daily! Then you wonder why people give Scottsdale a bad rap sometimes.
Often we heat thats Scottsdale girls are stuck up, fake brats etc! Just because a girl does not smile at you does not make her stuck up or a bitch as so many people have come to use that term as wide based stereo type. Some people's faces are very expressive. Some not. Other's are not concerned with your opinion at all. They don't even know you. Why should they? But, they may have something on their mind and it is annoying them and that's the face you see expressed on their face. Now they are an asshole? Not true. It just your quick assumption of what you just saw. Do you know who Danny Ainge is ? Or Denise Richards? Both have perpetual frowns. Both are great people. At first glance you'd say he's a winey jerk and she is a stuck up brat. Nothing could be farther from the truth. Try getting to know people before you take a look at a group of girls laughing, having fun, and the words that come out of your mouth are "what a bunch of Scottsdale bitches." They may be the nicest funnest girls you could ever know. They could be a huge pain in the ass. Since some didn't say "hi" to you doesn't make them bad or worse people than you and I. Their expressions , bodies, laughter, no laughter what have you ,bear no resemblence of who they truly are inside or what they are at the club for. So you could just be accepting and relax , have a good time with the friends you came with. What novel idea!

Grand Opening

Now open in Gilbert on Ray and Gilbert Road. N/W Corner
VG Magazine decided to drop on in on this grand opening with some of the finest Personal Trainers in the state. It had a great turn out in a fun and comfortable enviroment. All the Trainers are certified and very personable with many years of experience!
VG has been to hundreds of small business openings and this may have been one of my more favorites. Great people talking with everyone not just sitting in a corner waiting to be talked to.
Whitney Jones, Angela Dixon, Artie Cook, Damian Segovia, Felicia Romero, Julie Peake, Vickie Bogart and Tyler Bulbulbarian are the trainers and couldn't have a more positive energy about them. There were several local companies there sellings goods, feeding the kids and jumpy as well!
I have no doubt that this will be a great training facility for anyone seeking to improve their health and even their appearance.

Scottsdale Culinary Festival
I honestly don't know how many years this event has been going on for but,I have been a few times. It's a good time for friends to get together, but other than that I don't like it as much as maybe as I could.
First of all it's $10.00 to get in then you have to buy tickets to get your food and drinks. I'd like to see more samples given away and more new vendors. I spent $45.00 in 2 hours. It's all the same place's most people that go out, already go to. I must add the people in the booth's were awesome!
The bands are ok. Nothing amazing there. It's hot and they don't add much extra shade. Over all I will give it a 2 out of 5 as an event. Hopefully next year some innovation will come into play!
